As Stalin once said: “Death solves all problems – no man, no problem.” This must be one of the most pristine examples of his axiom at work.

Vardan Kushnir, notorious for sending spam to each and every citizen of Russia who appeared to have an e-mail, was found dead in his Moscow apartment on Sunday, Interfax reported Monday. He died after suffering repeated blows to the head.
OK … so I’m sure the title of this article has been used before. Anyway …
This month I was interviewed for a job at a “major online retailer” in Seattle. Washington state wasn’t really on my radar, I must admit. I’m from Boston originally and spent the first 30 years of my life battling the elements there. Moving to a place even closer to the North Pole (albeit without the severe temperature drops) wasn’t necessarily what I wanted. But the recruiter made the company sound great and I desperately want to move away from Los Angeles. So I go through The Process.
Jon Stewart had Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on The Daily Show last night, talking about his findings about the link between vaccinations in the late 80′s and early 90′s and the shocking jump in the rate of autism and learning disorders in children born in those years. According to the article: “Since 1991, when the CDC and the FDA had recommended that three additional vaccines laced with the preservative be given to extremely young infants — in one case, within hours of birth — the estimated number of cases of autism had increased fifteenfold, from one in every 2,500 children to one in 166 children.”
What’s shocking is not just that this has happened, but the scope and scale of the cover-up. I guess “shocking” isn’t the right word – I’m not really surprised by it at all. “Disgusting” is a better adjective.
Well, if this issue starts to pick up momentum, look out for some lawsuits that would bankrupt…
This will only make sense to a very, very, very small corner of the online flight-sim community.

I don’t know what Al Qaeda was thinking on this one. The Brit’s have been dealing with IRA bombings for decades. The Brit’s endured The Blitz from 1940 through to V2′s landing on London as late as 1944 – and they didn’t crack.
Maybe they were trying to get Blair overthrown. Not bloody likely. Even if he is unpopular for his support of the war in Iraq, no way the British would cave in and change their government as a result of such an act. If that was the plan, it will backfire.
Maybe it was a statement to the G8. Again, backfire – it engendered more solidarity and made the civilized countries look more, well, civilized by the contrast of what was on their agenda that week.
If they make the attacks on countries like Denmark and Italy, as threatened, that could be a turning point. There’s still enough backbone in Europe that if it looks like they’re all…
