The New England Partiots’ 2008 season came to a crashing halt on the first weekend. Or so it would appear. Tom Brady is out for the season with a knee injury. It was bound to happen eventually – he takes more hits per season than just about any other quarterback. Fortunately, Brady takes excellent care of himself and will no doubt be back in 2009.
But where does that leave the Pats? Contrary to popular opinions at the moment of the injury, they did not go out and get a veteran quarterback to replace Brady. No Chris Simms. No Cullpepper. No Flutie, even. They stuck with Matt Cassel. For now anyway. Matt Gutierez was brought back on to the team as the 2nd/3rd QB after being released just a few days ago. So the team heads into the 2008 campaign with basically three quasi-rookie quarterbacks.
Yeah. OK. But didn’t this same team win a Superbowl with a semi-rookie quarterback in…
Construction/Presentation:
The body (5.5″ x 55 box-press) was somewhat soft, but pliant. A nice looking cigar with an impressive looking wrapper and good overall construction.
Performance:
The burn was even but responded well to touch-ups. This cigar produced a good volume of smoke and held over an inch of ash well – but the ash was crooked, not doubt a result of the uneven burn. The Classic didn’t have much of a kick – a slight tingle in the belly about half-way down but that was it.

Construction/Presentation:
The body (6.0″ x 54) was somewhat soft and the wrapper felt a little brittle, even after a month in the humidor. Overall a nice looking cigar with an impressive looking wrapper, though.
Performance:
I only ashed the cigar twice – I could have probably gotten away with only once, except I was outside and there was a breeze. This cigar produced a solid billow of smoke which lingered nicely. About mid-way in there was a nice kick, but overall a mild-flavored smoke. There was some tunneling and the burn wasn’t completely even, but nothing bad enough to affect the experience. Nice smooth draw.
Yet Another WordPress Upgrade. This one is really worth it – for the versioning and auto-updating functions. So I’m also plowing through 20-30 plugins and updating them too. There may be some breakage along the way. C’est la guerre.
